Pros: great size for an apartment
Cons: nothing
recently bought the 26" Sony Bravia set on sale at my local Sears store. I would highly reccomend this set. I didn't want a great big set you mount on the wall living in an average sized apartment. (1 bdrm). This is my first HD set and experience with HD. Got it hooked up to HD service about two days later. I am just overwhelmed with the picture. I will never go back to regular tv anymore. I love Sony products, have others (Sony Walkman MP3) very pleased, so I knew I could trust Sony. Checked reviews here prior to purchase of this set and very positive comments. Get a Sony Bravia set and HD hook up and you'll be very happy as Me.

Pros: Very good picture even with SD (don't have HD yet). easy setup, great value.
Cons: No cons.
The picture is nice and clear when connected with the right cables (not coax.). A lot of color and picture adjustments available. Perfect size for a small bedroom.

Pros: Remote
Cons: Non-adjustable stand.
I had a Samsung for a few weeks, but exchanged it because I needed a bigger screen. This time I went with the Sony, and as a result, I had the chance to compare the two models. With the transition to digital, our local channels provide a hodgepodge of different screen formats. Using the Samsung to bring each channel back to where the picture was not stretched or distorted took quite a bit of complex scrolling and clicking though the onscreen menu , whereas the Sony has one simple button right on the remote that does the job. This sort of convience put the Sony way ahead of the Samsung to my mind. Also I liked the idea that the screen on the Sony has a matt finish, in contrast to the glossy screen on some other models. This reduces reflections from lights and windows in the room. While a matter of preference, I also liked that the frame around the screen is not as glossy as on some other models, and thus does not seem quite as obnoxiously plastic as seems to be the current fashion in modern TVs. I put my TV on a low floor stand that I can roll around, and one shortcoming I found with most TVs ( the Sony included) is that they do not provide a feature that allows you to tilt the screen up or down or side to side for optimum viewing angle. Viewing angles are critical on all the new TVs, and lack of such a feature can leave the viewer with the need to prop the front of the stand up in some manner. Both the Sony and the Samsung have stands that are rounded rather than squared off on the back, making tilting them back for proper viewing angle a fairly precarious proposition. Hopefully the makers of smaller TVs will remedy this adjustment situation in the future, because for now, owners are left to their own devices if they choose not to mount their TVs on a swiveling wall mount.

Pros: realism of colors, crisp clear picture, best choice among 26" TVs on the current market
Cons: shorter screen heighth, small print on screen, distorted print scrolling news at bottom of screen
The new Bravia L 26" screen is a half inch wider than our Sony Trinitron screen from the year 1994, but the new screen is 4" shorter in height. Thus, the 26" Bravia L fits in the cabinet where the old TV fit, but the resultant picture is significantly smaller, equivalent to what the old 21" TVs used to be. Both the old and new Sony TVs have a great crisp picture with realistic colors, the best we've seen on the market. The print messages that sometimes appear in the bar at the top of the screen of the 26" Bravia L, however, are so small that they are not easy to read. Also, the scrolling news at the bottom of the screen is annoyingly variable--that is to say, as it starts coming across the screen from the right, the font is spread wide; as the news reaches the center of the screen the font is normal; and as the news reaches the left of the screen the font is again wide. The optional use of the "WIDE" button on the remote does not appeal to us since it simply distorts faces wider to fill the screen. We neither recommend nor dissuade folks from buying this TV in the one week we've owned the 26" Bravia L. We do think it's the best choice of what's currently available in 26" TVs on the market, but perhaps choices can be improved.

Pros: Ease of setup, picture quality
Cons: No on screen time display
I upgraded from a 20+ year old trinitron to the excellent TV recently. Despite what I was told at Best Buy I was able to use my existing roof top antenna to view the excellent picture on this bravia. The setup was very well documented and once up and running customization was very easy and intuitive. The only thing I would change is to build in lighting for the remote control, which has large buttons for the most commonly used functions. I own 2 Sony radios also and am very happy with all 3 Sony products I now own!

Pros: Picture quality, ease of set-up and use, great price, good sound, traditional SONY reliability
Cons: None
This is my 1st HDTV; I could not be more pleased. I've been reading reviews for 2+ years, continuing to depend on my 20 inch Sony purchased in 1988, while waiting for technology and price to be dedicated to smaller HDTVs. December 2008 Consumers Reports review of 26 inch sets indicated the predecessor, 26L4000, would have been their highest rated if the remote was more user friendly. This TV and the remote make that a non-issue. Their advice to consider a highly rated 720p is right on the mark. It took this 62 year old less than 20 minutes to set up and use. If you are looking for a smaller set, this is the one to buy if you watch daily shows, sports and movies!

Pros: Easy set-up; great sound; outstanding picture quality
Cons: No headphone jack; stand doesn't swivel
It took me an hour (or even less) to get this TV out of its box and into the open ready for digital broadcasts and my PlayStation 3. Since I bought this mainly for gaming, I am very pleased with the performance thus far. Having played Grand Theft Auto 4 and the Resident Evil 5 demo for a solid number of hours, I highly recommend investing in an HDMI cable because the PS3 graphics (1080p!) and sound are buttery smooth on this TV. With the PS3 on one HDMI port (a gaming console AND a Blu-Ray player), I'm still left with two more! I put the "performance" down a notch because sometimes little distortions appear on one or two over-the-air digital broadcasts; I'm not quite sure if the culprit is the TV or the antenna I bought along with it (i.e., an RCA antenna). The only thing that bothers me is the lack of a headphone jack--I am aware of the headphone jack adapters available, but I just can't figure out why a simple feature (and usual mainstay) was neglected. An included swiveling stand would have been nice too (but I could care less about that).

Pros: speakers, menu layout, PIP, Image.
Cons: lack of clock
This L series is so much better than that M series I had before. Powerful speakers (even though they are small), fast volume and menu response, and nice screen. I also like the design, makes it look more like a frame. I really happy with this TV; In fact I'm thinking to exchange it for the 32". is just 60 bucks more in total.
