Enter a world without wires with the new MDR-DS3000 infrared wireless headphones. These headphones are ideal for DVD players and other components with Dolby Digital, Dolby Surround or DTS Surround Sound. These unique open-air headphones are comfortable, cordless and have a 23 foot transmission range, a 90° transmission angle and a self-adjusting headband. For superb sound and mobility, the MDR-DS3000 infrared wireless headphones make the perfect addition to your home theatre.

What is Infrared?

Infrared transmission works by sending out infrared light signals from the transmitter to the headphones. Infrared signals are resistant to external noise and interference, but the headphones must be within line of sight of the transmitter because the signal can't pass through walls, furniture, or other obstacles.

Cordless Headphone Design

Oversized 30mm driver units for noticeably deeper bass sounds and long-stroke 12�m polyester film diaphragms feature low mass for superb transient response; new diaphragm shape resists bending and flexing to provide low distortion.

Battery

Rechargeable nickel-metal hydride battery system automatically charges the headphones when placed on the processor or commercially available “AAA” dry batteries can be used to power the headphones.

Transmitter

Incorporates Sony VPT Virtual Phones Technology™ with advanced level 125MIPS (125 million instructions per second) Logic 3D Processor for a richer and more natural "live" sound quality. The transmitter, also has separate FM carriers for wide bandwidth, high channel separation.

Built-In Decoders

Reproduces all popular surround sound systems including Dolby Digital™, Dolby® Pro Logic II and DTS® 5.1 channel sound as well as Digital Theater Systems surround sound to provide the maximum "live" entertainment experience. The decode-mode indicator on front panel visually indicates when the system is in Dolby Digital, Dolby Surround, or DTS mode, and provides a stylized representation of the virtual speaker placement relative to the listener, for each mode.

Comfort

A unique open air design and self-adjustable headband that provide greater wearing comfort and conforms precisely to the shape of your head for a comfortable fit over long periods of time.

Additional Features

Muting function, power-saving function turns off infrared signal emission when audio signal is not input for 10 minutes, volume control for adjusting right and left volume of the headphones and auto power on/off.
