I purchased my Sony Reader about 6 weeks ago after comparing price and features with other readers. I love it and I take it everywhere. I would highly recommend this product to those, like myself, that love to read and also for students or professionals that have electronic course material and/or technical material in PDF format for easy access. The initial setup was challenging due to lack of specific instructions regarding the E-library. But the biggest drawback is the lack of organizational options for your reading material.

Overall a great device. Had a chance to use Reader PRS 505 which is a great one to. Maybe this device should be more responsive when taking notes. I see it like an awsome successor to PRS 505. Love it!

Pros: The Sony Name, Excellent Construction, Great Value
Cons: None At This Time
Dear Sony, I do not own a Sony Reader but I have been researching the Touch & Pocket Editions. From what I've seen thus far, I like features of both. The Pocket Edition appears to have better contrast but the Touch Edition has a dictionary & expandable memory, among other features I wish were on the Pocket addition for the suggested $199. Please allow me the opportunity of changing gears here to mention two of the reviews listed on the Sony website. I truly wish these people would learn to use proper diction as well as acknowledge that English is the official language of the U.S.A. By all means, keep your heritage of where ever it is you come from but please learn to use the English language properly. Thank you for making incredible products and thank you also for giving me an opportunity to voice my opinion. I'm not sure which of the Sony Readers I'll choose to be my reading device but I'm sure I'll enjoy it regardless of which one I choose.

Pros: Sturdy, nice to handle, good size, Really like the page turning.
Cons: playing music really runs down the battery, software interface needs work.
This is my first reader. I looked at several, read lots of reviews and analyzed the comparison charts. Actually, tried some out before I bought the PRS600. I am really impressed with the Ebook Reader I wish I had purchased on sooner. I like the feature for turning page on this model. Finger slide across part of the page (I use my thumb, neat easy to use, as opposed to pushing buttons) The ebooks are very legible and easy to read. reading pdf's can sometimes be tricky. But I attribute that to the 3rd pdf creating software not the ebook. E.g the Ebook isn't going to be able to do much about readability if the software that created the pdf turned all of the pages into individual pictures. One of my pdfs did only contain pictures of the text. Cons, I've had my ebook for about 3 weeks. In that time I have loaded many of my tech manuals, and other pdf's in to the reader(almost 300.) The software doesn't allow much organization of your reading material. As it sits now every book is on one long listing of books. There is a category feature, But the categories don't help organize that listing of books. I have several books where they each have a chapter 01. Getting the chapters organized properly, by book, is a very tricky and frustrating process. I would really like to see folders, and sub folders for organizing my reading materials, in the computer based software and in my reader. The other con is that when you play music from the ebook the battery life drops off rapidly. Considering all of the pros and cons , I really like this product. I highly recommend it

Pros: great titles.
Cons: lighting, need a reader's club for volume purchases. color
I love how I can increase the size of the letters. With poor vision, it really, really helps. Backlighting would help in a dim lit room. Lot of various call out letters after the model number, so I hope I have the latest edition I got a few months back. Could it be in color? !

Pros: So easy to find books!
Cons: Mild glare
I got my reader in black about 2 weeks ago and have already acquired a lot of content. I enjoy the fact that I can get books from so many sources, including local libraries. There is a huge amount of books through google that are important reading for all ages. I am very glad that Sony gives you the option to use their software, adobe digital editions, or drag and drop into the internal memory. This makes transferring music and photos very easy. I have to say, some of the reviewers here need to dig a little deeper before bashing the reader so hard. It works with mac and charges via usb or a charger. The glare on the unit is mildy annoying, but not enough to deserve a 1 star rating.
