XL2200- and - Sony Services
Pros: None
Cons: Cost me $250 every two years.
I replaces this light in OCT 2007. I am repalcing this now on Oct 09. That tells me the Quality of This product is very poor. My TV usage is normal usage about 5 hrs a day. So this light has averaged 2 years since the purchase of the TV and the 2 years after the first bulb replacement. I ordered this time Paid for expedited shipping. Aftre Two business days, Sony has no knowledge of where the shipment is. I possibly would have a guaranteed replacement from a Generic Store. I could have bought this cheaper. I have used Sony product for 24 years... Tv's , Player, Cameras, Computers, Play Stations... After this experience, I will think twice in investing in another Sony product. May be I am a single customer. But I may be the first but not the only one.

Give me a discount
Pros: Makes the unit shine like a brand new Quarter
Cons: Not worth the replacement cost.
A brand new lamp makes my LCD purr like a brand new Cadillac. But they don't seem to last any time at all. This will be the fourth lamp in this set. And the unit is 4 years old. The original lamp lasted about 18 months, but the three subsequent lamps seem to be running out about 9 to 10 months.

less than one year later i'm ordering another lamp replacement. getting expensive to just watch tv.

Lamp replacement
After 3 years of steady use, it was finally time to replace the projection lamp on my WEGA. It became very obvious that the picture brightness had begun to fade. Changing the lamp was a simple process - Thank you Sony

sony replacement bulbs
Pros: bets bulb despite price
Cons: would be nice if cheaper.
you have bought a great tv that was not cheap. do not buy a cheap replacement bulb. you will pay more for the sony bulb but it will last much much much longer and in the end it will be way cheaper. just read the horror stories out there. keep your sony .... sony.
