Pros: NOTHING
Cons: Bulb lasted 95days!
This is ridiculous. I will NEVER buy another Sony...they are not what they use to be. The original bulb lasted 2 yrs to the date I bought the TV...bought the replacement bulb for 285.00 and it's lasted a whole 95 days. Will Sony replace it??? NOPE! Their AWFUL! Do NOT BUY THIS BULB!

I've had this product for 1-2 years
Pros: none
Cons: To expensive a TV for the quality
I purchased the lamp on March 14, 2009 and now on November 25, 2009 I have to replace it again. This will be the last lamp and the last Sony I ever buy, I will be sure that all my friends and family are aware of the crooks at Sony~!
My parents had me order this replacement lamp for there fairly new tv back in March and here it is Nov. and I need to order another one. This is outragous and rediculous. I will never purchase another Sony product and I am sure they are done with Sony as soon as they can get rid of this boat anchor.

Pros: none
Cons: lamp is flickering only 30% into it's lifespan, no excuse
I can see why SONY isn't doing projection TV anymore. Faulty optical blocks, bad bulbs, etc. Here's some insight: I own an Infocus X1 DLP projector since 2000. I'm well past the life expectancy of that lamp and it's still going strong. So it has nothing to do with living in a dusty environment, or living in a high altitude, etc. The KDS-55A2000 I've only had for 2.5 years. I feel like I'm watching a movie with all the flickering from a high school reel to reel projector. Ridiculous and boooo.

I've had this product for 1-2 years
Pros: Since the picture can only be seen if the bulf works...not much
Cons: Sony Service
The original bulb lasted the longest. Ever since then, I'm replacing them every 6 months. That's unacceptable! It's obvious that Sony knows how long they last which is why they only warranty a $250 bulb for 90 days! If as a company you make a bad product, you still need to stand behind your product. I am done with Sony!

I've had this product for 2-5 years
Pros: Excellent picture. Easy to replace.
Cons: Expensive. Questionable lamp life.
I have the KDS-50A2000. The original lamp lasted 3 years and 2 months. Picture was set to vivid on all inputs. I estimate I obtained close to 5300 hours of usage. Which is probably appropriate for max output setting. My suggestion is for Sony to recycle the lamp housing to bring down costs. Same concept as printer cartridges. TV has met all of my requirements to date. Replacement lamp has been installed for 6 days. I will wait and see. I recommended this SXRD TV to my son who bought the 60 inch XBR version. It comes with a replacement lamp. Think of the problem plasma owners have, burn in and when it goes dim they can use it as a door stop.

Pros: non
Cons: replacemant lamp
Cannot believe Sony put this TV on the market with this lamp. I thought Sony was better then that. I have two TV's and I have had the cheaper brand longer and have never replaced the lamp. This is the second time I have had to replace Sony and to top it off it is on back order

I've had this product for 1-2 years
Pros: easy to install
Cons: burns out quickly
Prepare yourself for a whopping ONE MONTH warranty on this bulb, I bought a sony thinking it would be higher quality but now I'll just look online and buy one of the bulbs that is $125 LESS (that includes a 1 year warranty). Rated for 6000 hours, closer to 600...
