Pros: plays 8mm and Hi8
Cons: no direct computer connection
I got this camcorder a few years ago when my other 8mm camcorder started eating my tapes. I didn't realize it would be one of the last to support this format on the market. since then i have gotten the new hdr sr12, but have recently been using this to transfer many of my old 8mm tapes to dvd. i bought a dvd recorder with front A/V inputs, and basically just press play on the cam, and record on the dvd recorder. its that simple. sometimes i have wished i could put the footage on the computer, but it is possible to extract the footage from the dvd and onto the computer if you know what your doing. overall, a must for anyone still supporting this old format and maybe just want to transfer their old tapes on dvd in the same manner i have been doing.
