Because of the special demands HDTV places on signal quality a new generation of Sony’s exclusive WEGA Engine™ advanced picture quality system has evolved into WEGA Engine™ HD. Two innovative digital imaging processes have been added to improve overall picture quality. A High Contrast Image processor dynamically detects the histogram of each frame and instantly applies the ideal contrast level for crisper images. And the Natural High Density Picture image processor reduces noise elements by intelligently separating the noise from the video signal for a purer more detailed picture. Technological marvel
Pros: There is no picture as beautiful
Cons: Waiting for Sony to remedy the problem. But was worth the wait
We bought our orginal KDS50XRB1 in Feb 06. The set was replaced in Aug of 06, because of Green glob on screen. But appeared again in June 08. But thanks to Sonys Optical Engine upgrade, from the original plastic, to glass lens (replaced free of charge) the picture was more outstanding than it was when new, which I could'nt believe was possible! !We trusted Sony to remedy the issue, and eventually did. The reason we stuck with this set ,was because we could'nt find another one out there that was as beautiful or have the picture quality this set provided for the price. We looked at every brand and format. I'm proud to say our patience paid off. Thank you Sony for the privlege to own this wonderful and amazing technology.
