....Blu-ray is a "Must Have" technology..
Pros: ,sound, picture great sound and picture during DVD playback
Cons: too long to warm up, but it's worth it.

..I purchased the Sony BDP-S500, back in Feb, of 09 and I tell you I had to update it [online] the minute I bought it and ever since it plays all my Blu-ray and DVD'S with great sound and picture...And the HDMI to DVI works great...This is my 2nd Sony dics player but 1st Blu-ray...Good job Sony.

This player works perfectly, and I am extremely happy with it! Thanks Sony, you really did it this time! Never had a problem with it. Great picture every time I use it. LOVE BLU-RAY!!!

Excellent player!

- Requires HDMI compatible HDTV with equivalent display capability. Upscaled image quality will vary depending on source
- Requires BRAVIA Theatre Sync or HDMI-CEC feature on each component. Feature available on select BRAVIA LCD HDTVs and other Sony audio/video components. Please refer to owner’s manual for non-Sony products regarding compatibility.
- Certain circumstances may limit/prevent Blu-ray Disc, CD or DVD playback.
