this is a really great PC. it comes with tons of unnecessary software that really bogs down the processing, but that is a problem easily fixed. the update features and vaio support are really great. the only bad thing about this computer is the extremely low battery life. less than an hour when on the 'power saver' mode. that's what the 17 inch display does: saps your battery. so when purchasing any laptop consider how long you might want to be 'un-plugged.' one more thing that i didnt think about was how big 17 inches really is. it's almost awkward to get out in public places, ie the airport. the overall weight of the machine is bearable, but when you combine that with books and power chords, it makes trekking around with it a little uncomfortable. so also consider how light you want to travel.

Great Notebook
I purchaed my notebook in November of 2007. I love it. It's great for the kids and watching movies. Thanks, I'm so happy to have selected this machine above the others I was considering.
- GHz denotes microprocessor internal clock speed; other factors may affect application performance. CPU speed will be reduced under certain operating conditions.
- GB means one billion bytes when referring to hard drive capacity. Accessible capacity may vary. A portion of hard disk space is reserved as a recovery partition.
- Requires a compatible 802.11n access point. Some functionality may require Internet services, which may require a fee.
- DVD Media/Formats are not universally compatible.
- Supports Memory Stick PRO™ high-capacity media tested up to 1GB. Does not support MagicGate® functionality.
- i.LINK is a trademark of Sony used only to designate that a product contains an IEEE 1394 connector. All products with an i.LINK connector may not communicate with each other.
- Actual battery life may vary based on product settings, usage patterns, battery and environmental conditions.
