Pros: Looks great but that's about it.
Cons: Fragile plastic not good for the eReader.
I received my eReader "Premium" Black Leather cover the first week in June 2009 at a cost of $50 including tax, S&H. I'm very careful with my eReader, 1.) because I like it, and 2.) it wasn't cheap. However, after just a few months of use (mostly reading before sleep at night) the top of the plastic backing that clips into the Reader itself is already showing signs of fatigue. I think it's only a matter of another couple of months and it's going to break completely! If I happen to be standing and holding it at the time it breaks, the eReader could fall to the ground and be severely damaged. So what are my options??? To waste $50 on another "Premium" cover? I don't think so! This flimsy piece of plastic is not sufficient to support the weight of the eReader; it just isn't practical, and certainly not worth the money Sony wants for it. They need to beef-up the plastic a bit or redsign it.

Pros: Looks nice
Cons: Plastic spine poorly designed
I really like my reader, it's a terrific product. However, the plastic spine will easily break with just normal use. For a cover this expensive, it should be reliable. This cover actually places the reader at risk instead of protecting it. I have had two covers that have self-destructed a little more than a year.

Pros: great idea and great size
Cons: cover clips very weak
I love my ebook and take it everywhere I go. It is perfect for my purse, perfect to use while waiting for an appointment. The weakness is not the book, but the cover that protects it. The cover looks beautiful but the clips that hold the book in place are very weak and will begin having trouble holding the book after a rather short time and in my case will break. I had two covers in one year. At that rate It will get expensive. There need to be reasonably priced basic covers available.

Pros: Nice looking, feels good
Cons: flimsy tabs
This is such a nice product to have such flimsy tabs to hold the reader. The leather feels good to the touch and looks great. I would love to have a better way to attach it since the plastic tabs are easy to bend. That is the only complaint I have because it does keep the reader clean and free from scratches. All in all it does the job it was meant to do.

Pros: Sturdy leather
Cons: Flimsy clips to hold the Reader
For a $40 cover, the company should have been able to provide the most basic requirement: to make sure the cover stays on and protects the device. However, the flimsy plastic clips break easily, leaving the cover useless and the device unprotected. It's strange because the rest of the cover is designed nicely. It's as bad as a beautifully crafted front door that's been hung onto the house with safety pins.

Pros: Looks great and feels great!
Cons: Just did not last as long I think it should.
While I love the look and feel of the black leather I am dissapointed the plastic "spine" that holds the book in the cover broke. I just don't know why as I never abused the item. Going to order a new cover and will probably order the new lighted cover. Just doesn't seem like the plastic spine was built strong enough to withstand normal usage. I have used it for over a year though. Still a great product!
