Still good, 'cause I love this brand. The earbud is not as good as expected. The bass is not strong enough, and the noise canceling has no significant reduction to the environmental noise.

Best sound quality & functionality at this price point--period. Other MP3 players include "throw away" ear buds, but these Sony ear buds are keepers. Dynamic volume leveling feature means you don't have to mess with volume control between songs. Active noise cancelling is very effective, on top of the noise isolation provided by in-the-ear ear buds. Power for active noise cancellation is provided by the MP3 player's rechargable battery, so unlike other active noise cancelling head phones, no need to replace batteries & don't have to put up with bulky battery compartment attached to head phones. Response times for pause/unpause and waking up from sleep mode are virtually instantaneous--the quickest I've ever experienced in an MP3 player. Battery specs indicate 33 hours of play time between charges.

I purchased this due to its small size, the low, sale price, Sony's reputation and a good CNET review. But I wasn't prepared for the little gem which FedEx delivered a couple of days after I ordered it from the Sony Style store. It's tiny (which means it fits in the little watch pocket in one's jeans), extremely solidly made, the sound quality is excellent (especially as compared to any of the iPods), the noise-reduction is surprisingly effective, the noise-reducing headphones are the most comfortable in-ear phones I've ever used, the headphone cable is more robust than most, the user interface, including file management via the included Windows software, is completely intuitive, the controls are laid-out ergonomically and, almost best of all, it's loaded with settings and features, some of them deliciously geeky, though all settings are easy to find and none get in the way of default use. This is a delightful product, it meets my needs perfectly and I doubt I'll ever need another portable media player.

met a lot of problems
Pros: it's a sony

the noise canceling is not as effective as i thought, also, the battery icon is invisable. the guide is not very helpful
- User available memory = 3,840,638,976 bytes, because a portion of the memory is used for data management functions.
- Calculated on 4 minutes per song @ 128kbps in the MP3 format, not including videos or photos. Other playable audio file format song numbers and times may differ from MP3 format.
- Not all MP3 and WMA files may playback due to file variations. Copyright protected AAC-LC files cannot be played back.
- Some photos cannot be played back, depending on their file formats.
- Approximate recordable times are estimated where only video is transfered. The time may vary depending on the conditions under which the player is used.
- Not all products with USB 2.0 connectors may communicate with each other due to chipset variations.
- When playing back MP3 files at 128kbps and Noise Cancelling off. The times are approximate when all of the equalizers and the VPT are set to "None", all of the DSEE, the Clear Stereo, Dynamic Normalizer and the New Song Pop Up are set to "Off", and the Type of Screensaver is set to "Blank". Acutal battery life may vary based on usage patterns, environment and battery condition.
- When playing back MPEG-4 at 384kbps. The times are approximate when the Brightness of the Common Setting is set to "3". Actual battery life may vary based on usage patterns, environment and battery condition.
- Screen size is measured diagonally.
- 10. Copyright protected AAC-LC files cannot be played back.
