16:9 Full HD 1080p resolution panel (1920 x 1080) accepts any HDTV signal and renders it with optimum resolution.
Advanced Contrast Enhancer circuit (ACE) dynamically improves contrast, resulting in deep blacks in darker scenes without losing fine details in shadows and other dark areas of the picture.
Xross Media Bar™ (XMB™) makes it simple and intuitive to navigate the television's menus, controls, and user settings.
BRAVIA® Sync capability allows you to control CEC-enabled components connected via HDMI™ input. Use your BRAVIA HDTV remote control to play Blu-ray Disc™ or DVD movies, access home theater settings, and even operate compatible Handycam® camcorders with a convenient on-screen display3.
The BRAVIA® XBR®6-Series smaller screen LCD HDTVs offer four HDMI™ inputs (up to 1080/60p capable) that transmit uncompressed digital video and multi-channel audio over one cable, as well as two HD component connections (1080/60p capable), giving you the flexibility you need to connect the latest video sources.
The piano gloss black finish and onyx speaker grille lend BRAVIA® XBR®6-Series smaller screen HDTVs a distinctive designer feel.
The proprietary BRAVIA Engine™ fully digital video processor significantly reduces noise, enhances overall image detail, and optimizes contrast, plus widens the color reproduction range for a more natural image.
DMex™ functionality expands your HDTV’s capabilities by letting you connect optional BRAVIA® Link modules, including the BRAVIA Internet Video Link, BRAVIA DVD Link, BRAVIA Wireless Link, and BRAVIA Input Link (all sold separately)2.
Favorites function features rich 3D graphics that make it easy and fun to quickly access video content and digital photos to share with family and friends.
Voice Zoom surpasses conventional methods of voice level control by analyzing the direction in which sound moves to extract the "center" sound (where the human voice is positioned), giving you the freedom to control the volume of commentators in sports events, documentaries, and other programming.
VESA® compatible hole spacing uses an industry-standard mounting hole pattern that can be used with VESA-compliant mounting brackets, taking the guesswork out of selecting the proper hardware for hanging your TV on the wall.
Motionflow™ 60Hz technology helps reduce “judder” in film-based content, delivering a clearer picture during sweeping pans with reduced visible jerking or stuttering.
24p True Cinema™ mode enables you to enjoy films at their intended 24 fps (frames per second) when viewed using a 24p capable output device, such as a Blu-ray Disc™ player.
Sony has integrated the TV Guide® Interactive Program Guide into the exclusive Xross Media Bar™ user interface to deliver regularly updated program listings.
S-Force® Front Surround enhancement function generates realistic, virtual three-dimensional “surround sound” from the two speakers in the TV, no matter what the size or shape of the room.
A PC input connector (HD-15 pin) allows you to connect your PC (up to 1920x1080p resolution) and use the BRAVIA® XBR®6-Series HDTV as a computer monitor1.

Pros: Excellent HD and DIGITAL picture
Cons: A little expensive for the size...but worth it!
I have owned 3 LARGE Sony LCD TV's. Large meaning over 42 inches. I finall decided to move my tube televsion out of the tv stand and get an LCD. To new for reliability rating. Looking for a 37". Naturally I did not think I was going to shop much but I always bought SONY. The XBR in this category is far superior to any thing else I looked at. Superb picture in both HD and digital. Best build quality in this class. I do not think you need above 60hz refresh until you get to 40". Watched ESPN HD college basketball last night and the picture was superb. The sound is far superior than others in its class. Some of the sound from the competion was a joke. Naturally a good receiver wil ice the cake. Watched movies with my ES dvd player. Superb. Expensive for a 37", but you get what you pay for. I do not know if I should watch my 52' SONY or my 37" now. Both are great products. My advice is to shop and look for a good deal on one. You know it is the best one>>>>>BUY IT!

Pros: Everything
Cons: None
Splendid TV! I was looking for a replacement for a 32" JVC tube. I also purchased the Sony Blue Ray S-550. Both components "learned" each other, thus less remote fumbling. Easy to hook up. Picture is incredible.

Pros: Great picture clarity, good job on fast moving scenes
Cons: 60hz motion flow (not 120hz+)
You get what you pay for with this TV. The XBR6 is a great TV. I have a 37" in my bedroom. Planning on buying an XBR9 51"+ for my living room. Sony always has made some of the best TV's on the market. The only complaint I have is that it isn't 120hz. Again, you get what you pay for.

TV is great, especially good in our glarry room, everyone can use the remote, Will buy a bigger one for the media room. Two suggestions for improvement. Otherwise performance gets a 5. Admittedly, I am a tough grader: When in mute, the CC is often underneath the 'muting' indication on the screen. Solve this easily by allowing locating or turning off the indication , or allow fixing CC to top,or ? some others I imagine, The second improvement would be to have some way to access the programming information provided by the channel brodcasting. I have a simple converter box that does that nicely. Must be a inexpensive(software only?) option, Yet this model doesn't have it. I live where the branded TV Guide stuff is never located, so I have NO guide, not even as nice a one as the cheap converter.
