Great Machine
Pros: beautiful scree, light weight, powerful and solid preformance
Cons: expensive batteries and power adaptors
I spent about six months looking for an upgrade to my dell 700m. I stayed with the my old Dell because the screen was second to none in terms of quality. I had purchased two newer laptops but ended up giving them to employees. I purchased the Z590 and have been extremely happy. I got the 16x9 resolution, 4 gig Ram and 128 Gig solid state HD. The screen quality is incredible and the performance is great. I went with the 128 gig solid state drive and have been very happy. I've also been very impressed with the battery life as I'm getting 5 to 6 hours out of my charge (i did get the larger battery). My challenge will now be what to do in two years when i want to upgrade again and can't find a machine I like as much. You won't go wrong with this machine.

My Best PC Ever
Pros: Lightweight, efficient, fast, intelligent, beautiful trim design

My new VGN-Z590UAB notebook computer is light, fast, efficient, ergonomic, and beautiful. Since this is the top of the line of the Z-series, few if any downloads are necessary save for occasional updating of programmes. I love my new notebook.

Amazing machine
Pros: Weight, size, battery life, performance, keyboard, cool factor
Cons: Power supply connector into chassis
I've had my Z for about a week now. Every time I use it I love it more and more. I'm absolutely blown away that Sony can pack such great performance into such a small and lightweight package. I'm a web designer and am on the computer all day long. I do travel quite a bit, so the size of the Z was very important in my decision. I'm coming from a first gen 15.4" Mac Book Pro and it was just a little too large. My biggest concern when going down to the smaller screen was losing resolution. That's before I saw that the Z has a 1600x900 option. Once I saw that, all doubts were answered. I've had quite a few laptops over the last few years and this is hands down the best laptop I've ever used or seen. This package is worth every penny and then some. I can't stop raving about it. The only problem I've had is where the power supply connects to the side of the chassis. I'm very very careful with this connection due to the fragility of the motherboard on laptops. Somehow it must have taken some abuse or was built incorrectly and the little piece of metal inside of the hole of the chassis was losing connection with the plug unless you held some pressure on it. This was my worst fear after going from the mag-safe power supply of the Mac Book (far superior design there). It was an easy fix, but should not have happened on such a high end machine. Otherwise it's perfect!!!!

If you're willing to go all out with every options, this computer is amazing. I never have to plug in when I'm on the move. There's a really useful Stamina/Speed switch for the graphics.
- GHz denotes microprocessor internal clock speed; other factors may affect application performance. CPU speed will be reduced under certain operating conditions.
- GB means one billion bytes when referring to hard drive capacity. Accessible capacity may vary. A portion of hard disk space is reserved as a recovery partition.
- Requires 802.11n compatible access point. Some functionality may require Internet services, which may require a fee.
- Broadband Internet service required along with third party services which may require a subscription or other service fee.
- DVD Media/Formats are not universally compatible.
- Viewable area measured diagonally.
- Non-metric weights and measures are approximate and may vary.
- Measured at the narrowest point
- i.LINK is a trademark of Sony used only to designate that a product contains an IEEE 1394 connector. All products with an i.LINK connector may not communicate with each other.
