Pros: HD Picture Quality
Cons: Remote cannot control my Sony ES Receiver
This TV has an amazing HD picture, with brilliant colours and realistic tones. Connectivity is a snap with my Location Free TV base station being nearby, I was able to easily connect this TV and my Sony Blu-Ray to my network via ethernet. The HD picture is so amazing that when you watch it - it feels like the first day you get a new prescription on your glasses. Everything looks so sharp and clear. My only complaint is that the remote that comes with the TV will operate even non-Sony receivers but it will not control my Sony ES Receiver (ES are their top of the line products). Unbelievable. I spent 6 hours on the phone with their tech support people trying to get a code for my receiver and I was told it is not available. Nor is it a learning remote. So thay have programmed in, all kinds of competitor brands of receivers, but ignored at least one of their own top-of-the-line units. It was a very expensive receiver, and you would think that everything they do would be backward compatible - especially to their ES line or products. So beware those with Sony ES Receivers ... check out whether the remote will work for you or not.

Pros: Speaker Bar rocks, nothing on the sides allow for easy hanging
Cons: none
This is the first TV that my wife and I have ever bought. The last TV we had was an old 30 inch tube with a nick in the glass that was a hand-me-down from my Brother-In-Law with only one input, coax. I can tell you that the difference is as greater that that between a candle and a CFL light bulb! The digital tuner with just our old antenna picks up 30 MORE broadcast stations and the HD broadcasts are insane. The motion on sports broadcasts in HD are so smooth and clear I feel like I'm at the stands. I've used the HDMI to stream online video from my favorite shows and the sound and picture quality are better than the old analog broadcasts of those same shows. I highly recommend this TV.

Pros: "The picture quality and the user interface"
Cons: waiting so long to buy this TV!
Going from a (1994) 27" RCA home theater to this is such an improvement. I find myself watching this 40" wonder for extended periods. The picture quality and the user interface is so nice that we actually fight for the remote! hahaha. Seriously though, this TV is capable of gorgeous colors and the only thing you have to be concerned with is the input. If you have a standard signal, you get standard quality, if you have HD, you get High Def quality...etc I have the SBP-550 Blue Ray, and the picture from a blue ray disc or even just a standard dvd is incredible!

Pros: Very good picture quality & very good sound
Cons: I have no cons on this TV
I brought this Television a few days ago after setting it up I could see the difference in the picture quality which is very good. I love the way that the remote is set up so that you can switch from Video to HDMI. The way that each is highlighted to show you which one you have the plugs connected to is so great, this way you will not get confused as to which HDMI or Video you are connected to. The Motion flow is wonderful. My husband looks at a lot of sports and you can see the difference in the motion flow, no trail. The sound is wonderful, I found no breaking up in the sound as in some LCD televisions. I have read reviews on various Televisions and saw where people did complain about the sound quality on various televisions. But not on this television. I have another LCD television and the sound is not the same as on the Sony.

Pros: Excellent picture detail. Can custom tailor using many settings.
Cons: Dark picture background at default/best color settings. No sleep button on remote.
Compared to other manufacturers, Sony's LCD's definitely have the best picture detail and the XBR6 is no exception. I only buy Sony because of past experience (picture quality, reliability, and long life). One thing I do dislike about this TV and all Sony LCD's is the picture background appears too dark. The picture mode default setting is beautiful, but is too dark for me. The default backlight and picture setting is set at max. There is no way to add more background light except adjust brightness, but the color fades when adjusting higher. Adjusting color doesn't help. It seems like I need to turn a light on inside the TV, although, all Sony models at electronic stores appeared to be dark, so it's not a problem unique to my TV. Compared to my 2 year old Sony CRT, the background is very dark, but then all LCD's appear darker than CRT's. I bought it because of excellent detail and motion control, but thought I could adjust the background brightness. I realize channel and cable transmission play a significant part in picture quality because some channels are much darker than others, but, still, they all are too dark for me. I have it about a week, so maybe it needs tweeking from someone who knows. I do like the many settings for picture, screen, sound, etc. There are so many. You can almost custom tailor this TV to your liking. I particularly like the voice, picture zoom settings, and the control that maintains the sound at an even level (loud commercials). It has been fun checking out all the many other features this TV possesses. The thin frame is less distracting than wide frames and is very attractive. The speakers don't look plastic as others have said and appear well made. They sound great, especially using surround sound. There should be a sleep button on the remote control. It is cumbersome to go into clock settings to set the timer every night, but a remote, with a sleep button from an old Sony, works on this TV. Also, there should be a power button on the TV in case the remote stops working (not needing new batteries). I couldn't accurately score this TV. I would have given it five stars if there was a way to make the picture background brighter/lighter. As for reliability, I only have it for one week. As for value, Sony TV's always are the most expensive, but you get what you pay for. Compared to other manufacturers' pricing, and all the features it has, the value is pretty good, but, generally, I think all LCD's are overpriced. Other than those few dislikes, this is a great TV. It was very easy to set up. I had an excellent experience purchasing it directly from Sony. It arrived in a flash.

Pros: Picture Quality, connection options, theater link, contrast
Cons: bottom bevel
I think it speaks highly of the television when the only complaint I can log against it is the cabinet design with the bottom bevel. It feels too flimsy and the box included an admonishment regarding lifting the display by it. The image quality both from my PS3 games and Blue Ray and Xbox 360 games is absolutely stellar. I've notice no motion blur. The colors are vibrant, the images practically leaping out of the set. I couldn't be any happier with my purchase.
