This past December 2008 I purchased the KDL 46XBR6 (TV); the BDV IS1000 (Blu-ray player & speaker combo) and an additional remote S-AIR speaker AIR SA10. To say that I am extremely pleased with the purchase is an understatement. All packages arrived on time as promised. I found myself even impressed with the box the TV came in? you clip two straps, lift the box off the base and there?s your TV ?no heavy lifting out of a box with styrofoam jamming up. Anyway?we?ve had the pleasure of enjoying this TV for 5 months now with no complaints. The picture when matched with a hi-def feed or blu-ray disc is unmatched. The only other TV I considered was the XBR8 or the LED backlit TV ? that thing is beautiful too?but still a bit pricy. The XBR6 picture is vibrant? I only tweaked the picture settings just a bit out of the box? I actually turned the backlight down a bit (they send all TV?s to stores with the settings fully cranked, so you may need to tone it down a bit once it gets home ?saves you a few $?s on the energy bill too). I?ll admit that receiving the TV, blu-ray and sound system all at once was a bit overwhelming from a set-up stand point? lots of new remotes, wires, manuals etc. but this would be true no mater what systems you buy. At least one reviewer mentioned the sync issues? I too get a bit confused when you turn off the TV, but want the tuner to stay on to play music, and the whole system cuts off. You just have to be patient every now and then and remember that it?s nice to power up and have everything come on without using a bunch of remotes. Finally the S-Air technology is pretty slick?. The BDV IS100 comes with a pair of rear speakers that wirelessly connect to the main system ?kept me from running wires under the house to the back of the couch! Also we have the additional S-AIR SA10 in the bedroom down the hall. This allows us to watch TV through the TV speakers, and play music through the receiver, yet transmit that music down the hall to the bedroom. Also while none of the speakers will win any bass contests anytime soon ?all are adequate for our needs. One other tip... while I was shopping another customer mentioned that it's a good idea to always buy the warranty on large TV's like this... the warranty may cost a few hundred dollars for 5 years BUT if anything ever happened it would cost you at least that much to package and ship the TV back (which is covered under warranty)... so the peace of mind may be worth a little extra $'s on the front end. Go ahead and buy one? my 2-year-old will grow up with this TV? she won?t know any different (that?s a crazy thought)

Pros: Outstanding picture in HD, thin bezel,
Cons: None so far
I already had a 3 year old 42" 720p Bravia. I am limitied by an entertainment center cutout that is 43' wide and I wanted as big a TV as I could fit. This TV is 42 7/8" and just fits. Had it about a month now and I can't brag it up enough. The picture is superb. I can't comment on the sound as I use a Bravia home theatre.

This Sony HDTV has a Great Picture & Sound , and met and exceeded all of our expectations. I purchased it on a sale, and we are very happy with it . I have Sony sterio and surround sound components that we are happy with, so we decided to stick with Sony , and I beleive it was a wise choice. The only place where I feel needs improvement, is the installation manual , which at times is a bit vague and confusing as far as connections to external equipment. But after a very short time we were able to hash it out. A Great HDTV.

Pros: Awesome Picture and features, easy to setup and use.
Cons: None so far..
I had and still own a 53" Sony projection that still looks great, plays HDTV (off antenna for 3 yrs), etc. But I needed something good for the bedroom...and I strayed...dumb, dumb, dumb..I had bought a Samsung thin line about 3 yrs ago for the bedroom, and it's picture lasted about 1.5 yrs before it started getting bad distortion. Horrible. So after a lot of comparison looking I came back home to Sony and this TV is incredible. I'm an engineer, so I'm a major geek and need connectivity features. Bingo got them., but this is an extremely easy setup and my wife (not tech) immediately "got " the remote and "took" the TV over. Colors, Picture, Remote, are excellent..the stint with the other vendor (and visits to the Sony 53" in the Living room) made me realize how much I'd missed Sony, but nothing brought it home like hooking this TV up and basking in the picture and ease of use. Congrats Sony. Folks, you deserve this TV.

Fantastic picture; incredible with Blu Ray. No negatives -- only positives. We got a great price - far below advertised. No complaints other than that the Sony sync features with other Sony components is a little confusing and it is not always in sync. The TV unit itself is terrific. What a picture !!

Pros: Awesome picture quality; awesome design; HDMI switching; great remote; great set of functions beyond wtaching TV
Cons: Software updates via Ethernet does not work yet; JPGs max. 10 MPixel ; black levels; silver speaker grille;
Simoly one awesome TV with excellent performance and simply a great design. I wished the TV came with a black speaker grille (as opposed to the default silver one) which would be a much better match with the TV frame. I connected the TV to the home network (Vista-based which comes with a built-in DNLA server)and it is a lot of fun watching JPGs over the network. Just be aware that JPS greater than 10 Mpixel are not supported. Also appreciate the TV's HDMI switching capabilities (together with the Blu-Ray player S550 amd Sony Hometheaters. One click the right HDMI-connected components turn on and off. Although the picture quality is awesome, the black levels could be better for a TV in this price range. Would definitely buy this TV again, and highly recommend to all friends of mine. Also liked a lot the available stretch modes for 4:3 material.

Pros: Bright, clear picture.
Cons: none I can find
This is my third LCD TV in the house and the one I choose to watch. The picture is nothing short of increadable. Coupled with HD programing, even older movies are a pleasure to watch over again. I have been watching old Italian westerns and can not believe the clairity.
