First I use this camera at the fireworks (NY), once you change the setting from normal to "Fireworks" the video was incredible clear with no other views but the fireworks. I use Final Cut Pro (100% Mac compatible) to edit it with great result to my taste. I would recommend this camera to be use by a beginner - intermediate work.

Haven't used this camera much since it's so new, but the most important thing I'd like to share- since there is a lot of conflicting information out there- is that this is campatible with a Mac. I love Sony products and I love my Mac with iMovie, so I was a little concerned. But I got this home, shot a quick movie, and was able to download it immediately to iMovie with no problems. You do need to have a Mac with the Intel processor and iMovie '08 or more recent. And the picture and sound were great.

On AVCHD models, the camcorder allocates encoding bits on detected face areas prior to encoding other parts of the picture, making them sharper and clearer. Great camera with great results

- 80GB equals 80 billion bytes, a portion of which is used for system management and/or application files. Available capacity is approximately 79.3GB after deleting the 390MB demonstration video.
- This camcorder captures high definition footage in the AVCHD format. DVD media containing AVCHD footage should not be used with DVD based players or recorders, as the DVD player/recorder may fail to eject the media and may erase its contents without warning. DVD media containing AVCHD footage must only be played back on a compatible Blu-ray Disc devices, PC with supplied software or PLAYSTATION®3 devices.
