Pros: Faster loading and more cabable than the BDP-S300

If you buy the 360 be especially careful with the Eject - Open/Close button because if if breaks, your 360 becomes a paperweight (one that probably swallowed the BluRay you rented and won't give it back.) If possible, find a vendor who still has BDP-S350's and buy one of those. You'll get remote control capabilities that the BDP-S360 lacks and increased reliability.

Pros: Excelent performance, quiet, great menu design. Reads MP3's ID3 tags
Cons: Poor music & photo features. No random, no program. Does not read DivX
For a second generation blu-ray disc player, I would expect more from Sony. It doesn't have the basic features any regular DVD player has: random and program for music files or cds, zoom for jpg and video. However it does read ID3 tags from mp3 files, something I always wanted. If you put a 100 mp3 songs cdrom, you're forced to listen to them sequentially. It's not possible to browse the disc while playing. I hope Sony fixes all the above with a firmware update. To be fair, blu-ray playing is flawless, image quality is superb. Does not seem to be a good DVD player replacement, but more than a complement.

Pros: Options, onboard HD sound decoding, updates, clean interface, size
Cons: no wireless lan, cheap remote, rediculous tray eject: whole front flips down, really plain player display
This player is a major upgrade since i purchased the S300 cheaper too... They've really dropped on price since then... They've fix all the things I didn't like about the old model... more options, better color and picture, Dolby HD and DTS HD decoding, better interface, and the biggest is the speed the S300 use to take about 5-8 minuets to start a movie this one takes seconds... This player also takes advantage of the features of Sony LCDs as well... Something Sony should add in future players though is wireles LAN....

Pros: Probably one of the best Blu-Ray players on the market.
Cons: That's not saying all that much, since most competitors' models are even worse.
Sony really needs to go back to the drawing board on this one. Why on earth do companies like this design and then manufacture products without apparently ever ONCE testing it among actual users, getting their feedback, and then fixing the usabiility flaws the users would point out?? Focus groups and beta testers don't cost *that* much... First of all, there is no open/close button on the remote, which on a well-designed machine allows you to open the tray as you approach the machine to insert a new disc. On this model, you have to go to the player, stand in front of it and press a button on the machine itself to open the tray. You then stand there like a moron waiting and waiting until the tray finally decides to open. Even though there is a quick-open option, it still takes too long, and there is no excuse for this design flaw. Another extremely annoying failing is that this machine can't remember where you left off on a disc. Yes, you have to start from the beginning, forced copyright warnings and all, in case you happened to not finish the movie last time you watched it last evening before turning the player off. And of course, that also applies in case you switched discs in the meantime, in case you're like normal, sane people and don't necessarily watch a 5-disc mini-series all at one sitting every time. Even a 3-year old Sony standard DVD player bought at retail for $69 could do this. No excuse for such a simple and very handy feature not being incorporated into such an expensive player. And then, the remote. Ah, yes, the remote. Obviously, nobody at Sony ever bothered to think for one second just how anyone might actually use the thing. For instance, the "Play" button is right smack where your palm meets the base of your thumb. If you are in the habit of pressing Play/Rewind/Fast Forward/Pause buttons with your palm, such as if you are possibly some animal not blessed with fingers, perhaps a pig or a cow, then you will just love the design of this remote. Your thumb actually rests most comfortably at all times, and is ready to point with, a "Select" type set of buttons, namely like those that you use ONLY ONCE, at the beginning of a DVD, to select "Play Movie", go-right/ go-left buttons to navigate to "Chapter Scenes", "Special Features", etc. But the Play/Pause/Fast Forward/Rewind buttons that you might use dozens and dozens of times while watching a DVD, yep, there they are, miniature, if not downright microscopic, buttons right underneath your palm. You can't reliably locate those all-important buttons by touch. You are well advised to turn the lights on and directly look at the remote first to select the proper button, because if you pick the wrong one, you'll now be treated to the next idiocy. Which is, in the typical darkened living room that the remote would be used in, after returning from the kitchen break that caused you to hit "Pause", and now you want to resume "Play", you will find yourself instead inadvertantly pressing the "Home" button on this remote. Which brings you to a Setup-type screen that most people would use, oh, perhaps, once for every 10,000 times they would actually want to use the Play button. Lord help you when you do this, for, of course, I must mention, the player then resets itself, and brings you back to the very beginning of the movie, from which point you then need to desperately try to figure out where in the movie you actually left off, and fast-forward back to it. And, oh, yes, you're forced to watch again all the Auto-Play copyright warnings, etc, before you can get back to where you were in your movie. And don't even get me started on the wonderful, oh-so-cool, trendy setup menu that nobody asked for and humanity really doesn't need. It radically departs from well-established and perfectly intuitive patterns. On other machines, the hot-spot button moves in the direction you tell it to with your pointer buttons. On this work of genius, the hot-spot button stays put, and the *menu behind it* is what does all the moving! Go figure. It's just someone at Sony trying to be "Way cool, man!". Not only does it take some time getting used to, it's so stupid that you'll decide early on that you really don't have the slightest interest in spending said time in doing so. Sony can make really top-notch products, and they can also make some real garbage. Given the mindless stupidity with which this item was engineered, this belongs among the garbage. We long-suffering consumers who happen to *like* Blu-Ray have very limited options, and we can only hope that they don't release the BDP-S560 until they fix these idiotic flaws.

Great image, beautiful picture. Would like to use the BD-live features but how do you connect to a wireless internet with an RJ45 lan port? Not a lot of helpful information on this.
