Pros: Fantastic for Blu-ray, Gaming, Streaming Media -- Very versitile
Cons: Slow internet browser with industry standard compatibility issues; Fan too loud
A. Yep ... pretty much. I've had a PS3 for over a year. I bought it since a Blu-ray player was a "required" accessory to my new 52" HDTV. Sonystyle.com had a coupon, so I chose the PS3 since it had both Blu-ray and HD gaming potential. I was pleasantly surprised with the other features the PS3 provides. Especially, the capability to use it as a device connected to a Home Media Server (see techyvision.com). I can stream all my digital photos and home videos from my desktop computer. I effectively have a 52" photo frame :-) now. Real cool!! The PS3 internet browser could be improved. It's slow and not compatible with typical internet flash players/etc. It would be nice to have a fully functional internet browser like IE or Firefox. The PS3 also has the capability to dual boot with a linux operating system. I tried it out to see if I could use another internet browser to stream media from the internet. But, I haven't found it too useful. It turns out that since the PS3 uses the powerful PowerPC, SW companies have been slow to develop common add-ons like Flash Players. I'm sure a bit of pressure by Sony could help push the industry forward. Again, more industry standard compatibility would be nice. Over all, I am very happy with my PS3. I bought it for Blu-ray, DVD and HD gaming. It works fantastically for these more common uses.

Pros: memory, price, apearence, texture, smaller
Cons: none
This model was much better than the 80G and 160G because it doesn't take up as much room, and you do not get fingerprints all over it when you touch it. I really thought the previous prices were way to high. Now PS3 can compete better with XBOX and Wii.

Pros: The best price out there
This console is definintly the best deal in the United States. Because you can surf the web for FREE, you get playstation network for FREE, playstation home for FREE, movies and tv shows from the playstation stores, PS1 games, but they have stoped with the PS2 games, but i own the 80gb and it has backwords compatibility, and i am completly satisfied, in general, this console is a great deal for the right reasons!

Pros: Blu-ray and game player
Cons: Constant updates to download- online network not as stable as other platforms
Imagine a Sunday evening where you just want to sit down and relax from a long week. You worked around the house Saturday and now this is your day, Sunday. You turn on your PS3 and it tells you "update required" so you sit for about a half-hour waiting for that to finish. At that point you don't want to watch a Blu-ray anymore and decide to play "Little Big Planet". Insert disk- the PS3 tells you "updates required" after 40 minutes of watching 6 of the 8 updates needed to play the game download I decided to watch TV. Maybe next week I can play my PS3.

Pros: the new slimmer version takes much less electricity to power. its small and skinnier. it over heats less
The PlayStation 3 is a fantastic system its the ultimate gaming experience with its blu ray discs (High Definition and 50gb compared to 9gb from other competitors) and amazing games like Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, Killzone 2, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Little Big Planet, InFAMOUS, Demon's Souls, Valkyria Chronicles, Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time, Resistance, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Wipeout HD and others it is the ultimate video entertainment device also it is the ONLY device that can watch blu ray movies and DVDs, and download digital movies or TV shows firectly from the playstation video store to your HDD, and the option to stream 1080p HD movies from Netflix (coming later in 2009) on one system you can also hold photos and the fairly new "Photo Gallery" (that was added in Firmware 2.60) will make you photgraphers very pleased and the playstation 3 can hold music and play them in games (selected few games) on the internet or just on the main menu The online is great quality (especially for free) the online community (Playstation Network or PSN) is forever growing with a larger amount of PSN titles every week and with games that hold up to 256 players in one match (Massive Action Game) the consumers can tell the quality that Sony is providing us gamers PSN is getting major updates every few months that will change the experience and add great new features to make one of the best online gaming system as well And the new slimmer version of this amazing console just makes it better much smaller and less electrical usage and less overheating and with a more affordable price now This system also has removeable hardrives you can get a 500gb laptop HDD for around $100 on the internet when other competitors demand you buy their specefic HDD for as expensive as $100 for only 120gb the PS3 can browse the web with no limitations The Official PS3 Bluetooth Headset for Online Gaming and Voice Chat is $50, but the ps3 supports all blue tooth headsets so you could go purchase a wireless bluetooth headeset for as little as $20 on the internet (while other competitors make you buy there official headset and no other) PS3 is the greatest value for any entertainment whether gaming or movies or music or photos i recommend you buy this machine and experience the future that is the Sony Playstation 3
