Pros: Network Connection, Upconversion

Bought it last weekend from COSTCO. Setting it up was very easy. No issues with connecting to network either. Some you tube videos seemed slow playing. It could just be that I didn't have any additional USB flash drive attached for buffering space. I was surprise how well this player manages to upscale normal DVDs.

Pros: Easy, completely automatic setup
Cons: None so far
Plugged in the power, ethernet and the video cables, turned it on -- it intermediately got an IP address, established an internet connection and let me know that a firmware update was available. After downloading the update, the machine powered down. I fired it up again, and all services worked perfectly. It did require a little back-and-forth between my PC and the machine as I registered the unit, subscribed to various services and responded to the confirmation emails (from the services), but that was pretty effortless. I was amazed at how simple it was. I was watching a downloaded movie within minutes of plugging in the machine.

I've been waiting patiently for a Netflix capable Sony BlueRay. Finally! Install was plug and play. Picked up IP from DHCP no problem. Was a little bummed Netflix not immediately available, but firmware update two weeks after purchase and all is now good. The Bravia Sync and Xross menu's integrate nicely with Bravia TV. Netflix quality is acceptable and plenty of other connected content available. A good value from Sony for a change.

Pros: Excellent internet channel features built in
Cons: A little slow reading disc initally
The best product for watching internet connent off Netflix and simillar sites. Once experincing blu-ray you will never go back to regular dvd. Other than the networking issues that you need to hurtle at the begginging the player is totaly worth the 150bucks. Highly recommend it.

Pros: Load Time, Online Content
Cons: None so far
I purchased this player from Costco a week ago, and I didn't have any trouble setting it up. As soon as I connected the player to my network it was able to connect to the internet. In all setup took a couple of minutes. Online content is great - almost too many channels. Some of them I would never use. Would be nice to be able to hide channels so its easier to navigate to the ones I do use. BD's load very quickly! Great player, very happy with it so far.

Pros: Online access would be cool
Cons: Network connectivity issues right out of the box
I purchased my unit at Costco this weekend. When I connected it to my network, it was giving me an error that it could not connect to the internet, although it had an IP address from my network. It was saying it possibly might be my DNS. Every other device on my network works fine. I am a networking professional, and it indeed has issues. A few times it told me there was a firmware update available, but as soon as I tried to download the update, I got another failure message. I then went to the Sony support site and had to download the firmware and burn an ISO disc to install the update via CD. This allowed me to get the latest update, but it still has not resolved my issues. However, I am now able to see the content that is available, but as soon as I try to download any, it tries forever, but never gets anything downloaded. It just says, "Loading... Please Wait."At this point, you have to pull the power to get out of this state. I am debating whether or not to return it and get another or just pass on the model that provides online access. For the money and value, you might be better off to get a PlayStation 3. Frustrating:(

Pros: Pretty much everything
Cons: no in built wifi
I was willing to buy this but dropped the idea when I saw that it can be only hard wired and have to spend extra for wifi. Were the designers out of their mind when they designed this? Not having in built wifi is absolutely ridiculing.

Pros: Works great after you get it setup.
Cons: Automatic IP address doesn't work.
The player will not go out and get the IP address set up information automatically. You have to enter this information from your router manually and then unplug the player for a minute and then plug it back in. It will go on line OK after you do that.
