This is a great little Media device. From the Nexflix, Pandora Radio, Google News, Pictures, and Weather to the robust Alarm Clock features including a Dimmer or Power Save feature to have the screen turn off until you touch it again. I really like it so far. I love that I can customize it from my computer if i want to. So apps i find online i can send to my Dash at home and they are ready instantly. If it had a Battery option this would be almost perfect. It still has room to improve with the Apps but i am sure that will come with time.

Based on specifications and features list, the dash doesn't seem to be able to access your media (photos, video, music) stored on your PCs on your network (DLNA media servers). This support does come with the PS3, I wonder why the dash personal internet viewer wouldn't support that ? It's a big gap.....

Pros: Bright screen, speakers incorporated into it, Internet radio from Pandora and Slacker, tons of apps for almost anyone
Cons: Some apps don't do enough, lacks a few apps that would be nice, batteries for wireless operation would be handy
Overall this thing is amazing. It does have a few drawbacks such as being restricted to a plug, and a battery backup would be helpful for moving it to another room of the house. Some of the apps aren't an "all-in-one" such as having 3 different apps for Facebook (one for pictures, one for status updates and one for profile info), but that's not a big deal really. If you know ActionScript 2.0, you can created your own apps!! Love having the weather at my fingertips, as well as humor, news, stocks, videos and live webcams! You can play music from a flash drive as well, but would be nice if it integrated with an ipod or mp3 player. An html browser would make it even more powerful. Overall it is a great product for anyone wanting to save time with getting news from different sources!

Pros: great device for certain
Cons: no portability as infered
You picture this device all over the house. That is very misleading. When a desktop item get plugged in it stays there. This device needs batteries. Good try no buy. And I buy them all.

Pros: always on, inexpensive, stylish
Cons: sluggish UI, touch experience lacking
I have both the iPad and a Dash. The iPad is best for surfing the web and reading while watching TV. The Dash is perfect for that quick glance data when running out the door. They have 2 completely different uses - the iPad is for seeking out content while the Dash is for having it served up to you. I have mine in the sitting room by the kitchen. The recipe of the day is nice, the kids enjoy the Panda cam from the San Diego Zoo and the countdown until school is out app. It rolls through the different apps like a mini electronic billboard serving up whatever content you pick. The UI is a bit sluggish and the apps are somewhat sparse. I However, I am sure Sony will sell a tons of these and the apps will increase exponentially in the coming months. It is good to see Sony getting aggressive with the pricepoint and going outside their comfort zone by partnering with an outside company (Chumby).
